Fastlink is seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Energy Manager to lead the Power Department and oversee the end-to-end management of electrical and energy infrastructure across telecom sites and data center facilities. The role will focus on critical power systems, cooling infrastructure, DC rectifiers, hybrid solar and lithium battery solutions, energy monitoring, vendor governance, and CAPEX/OPEX management. The successful candidate will drive energy efficiency, reduce operational costs and diesel dependency, ensure high system reliability, and support Fastlink’s transition toward sustainable and green energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure, including SLDs, ATS systems, power distribution networks, UPS, DC rectifiers, and genset systems.
Oversee data center cooling systems, including in-row cooling and HVAC infrastructure.
Plan, design, and deploy hybrid solar systems and lithium battery solutions across telecom sites.
Manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets and implement targeted energy-cost reduction initiatives.
Utilize Huawei NetEco and other power monitoring platforms for real-time telemetry, alarm management, and energy optimization.
Prepare BoMs, technical specifications, equipment selections, and designs for new projects and network expansions.
Lead technical evaluations and negotiations with major power equipment vendors, including Huawei, Vertiv, and Schneider.
Review RFP submissions, conduct technical gap analyses, and ensure compliance with applicable telecom and international power standards.
Manage vendor SLAs, warranty claims, technical support, and third-party technical consultants.
Lead field operations, technical teams, and NOC power-response teams in 24/7 incident management and preventive maintenance.
Establish operational standards, safety procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and technical documentation.
Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and reduced diesel dependency.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical/power infrastructure engineering, preferably within the Telecom or Data Center sector.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a managerial or senior leadership position.
Hands-on expertise with Huawei NetEco or similar network power monitoring systems.
Strong technical knowledge of solar/hybrid systems, DC power systems, lithium battery integration, UPS, ATS/genset automation, and data center cooling systems.
Proven experience in BoM preparation, CAPEX/OPEX management, energy optimization, and operational cost reduction.
Strong experience in vendor management, technical negotiations, RFP evaluation, SLA management, and procurement support.
Good understanding of electrical safety, power reliability, and relevant telecom and data center standards.
Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, project management, and commercial skills.
Professional fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic or Kurdish is highly advantageous.
